Spot Trading Fees
Spot trading on AZX follows a transparent maker-taker fee model. Trading fees are charged at the protocol level and vary based on the user’s VIP tier.
As the flagship decentralized exchange within the AZ ecosystem, AZX does not charge any additional frontend or channel fees. The spot trading fees described in this section represent the final fees paid by users when trading on AZX.
Fee Model Overview
AZX applies a maker-taker fee structure for spot trading:
Maker fees apply when an order adds liquidity to the order book
Taker fees apply when an order removes liquidity from the order book
Fee rates are determined by the user’s AZ VIP tier, which is calculated based on rolling 14-day trading volume across the AZ ecosystem.
Maker Fees
A maker order is an order that adds liquidity to the order book.
In spot trading, maker fees typically apply when:
A limit order is placed at a price that does not immediately match an existing order
The order remains in the order book until another trader executes against it
Maker orders contribute to market liquidity and may benefit from lower fees under higher VIP tiers.
Taker Fees
A taker order is an order that removes liquidity from the order book.
In spot trading, taker fees typically apply when:
A market order is submitted
A limit order is placed that immediately matches an existing order in the order book
Taker orders prioritize immediate execution and are charged according to the taker fee rate associated with the user’s VIP tier.
